A Percepção da Proteção de Dados Pessoais em uma Delegacia da Polícia Federal

Abstract
The present study is an analysis of the application and understanding of the General Data Protection Law - LGPD, within the environment of a Federal Police station. Its objective is to locate scientific findings for the effective application of the aforementioned Law, aiming to enhance best practices regarding the sharing of personal data in a law enforcement setting. Therefore, interviews were conducted with the Federal Police unit personnel in Juazeiro, Bahia, in order to gather their impressions regarding the guidelines outlined in the LGPD and its correlation with the Federal Police Data Protection Policy – Institutional Directive 16.077 DG/PF. Content analysis was conducted using the Bardin method. The results indicated a lack of training provided by the Federal Police to the interviewees. However, the levels of knowledge and attitudes demonstrated awareness and caution by the majority of respondents. It can be inferred that, due to the disruptive nature of the personal data protection topic, the perception of the employees in that Federal Police unit regarding these regulations is still limited.
