Impact of professional activity on physical and mental health of public safety professionals - bibliometric analysis

Abstract
This study aimed to carry out a bibliometric research on the physical and mental health of public security professionals and to verify the state of the art of the scientific publications on this subject between 2011 and 2020. For this, searches were carried out in the Capes Journal with the following keywords: police health; mental health; and police. Taking into account that the police profession is at the top of the professions with the greatest risk of illness, the following question was raised: how often have studies that seek to understand this illness been published? The bibliometric analysis allowed us to conclude that 741 articles were published. The authors stood out given the number of publications: Cecília Minayo and Edinilza de Souza; the Databases: GALE and DOAJ; the Periodicals: Revista Ciência e Saúde Coletiva and Revista Direito e Praxis; with Qualis A3 and A1 respectively; and finally, the most used languages in these publications were English and Portuguese. The bibliometric results showed that the number of researches in this area is still limited and that more studies are needed to support the creation of specific public health policies that meet the needs of this professional.
