Police Hacking and Infiltration in Response to the Use of Cryptography by Criminal Organizations
Main Article Content
Abstract
Organized crime currently navigates calm waters when it comes to security in its communications. Supported by the recalcitrance of Big Techs, those involved in criminal
activities take advantage of communication applications with encryption technology, to organize and expand their activities in Brazil and in the world. In the meantime, institutions responsible for criminal investigation strive to develop and apply new technologies to obtain evidence, which are commonly considered invasive or illegal, not because they face fundamental rights and guarantees, but above all because of the lack of knowledge of certain segments of society about the importance of intelligence activity for the protection and promotion of democratic and free states.
