Division of attributions for the application of criminal law rules in relation to pesticides in the border region

Abstract
This article analyzes the legal aspects of the illegal importation and transport of smuggled pesticides to Brazil with special attention to the cases found in the western border region. Through descriptive bibliographic research, it will be possible to bring to light concepts and studies on the subject discussed here, seeking to understand the differences between the law that deals with smuggling as defined in the Penal Code and the legislation that deals with the illegal importation of pesticides. From this understanding of the matter, we seek to establish the appropriate division of powers between the federal and state police for the suppression and investigation of these crimes.
