Contributions of risk analysis to public safety intelligence strategic advisory: perspectives aimed at confronting criminal organizations

Abstract
This article discusses the contributions of Risk Analysis in the production of strategic knowledge within the scope of the Public Security Intelligence Activity, in a perspective focused on confronting criminal organizations. In this sense, based on concepts related to Public Security, Intelligence Activity, Strategic Advice and Risk Analysis, the applicability, viability and possible results of using Risk Analysis as a support tool for knowledge production process, as well as its relevance in the planning and execution of the organization's objectives. The use of the tool in the Intelligence Activity results in knowledge that aggregates the anticipation of possible scenarios, through organized knowledge, identified and evaluated risks, as well as measures to mitigate them. Therefore, receiving higher quality advice, the decision maker will have more clarity about the possible actions he should adopt for decision-making at a strategic level, it being this advice even more relevant when it comes to confronting criminal organizations.
