Abstract
segurança, violência e criminalidade. Temas como terrorismo,
guerra contra as drogas, cibercriminalidade e corrupção impactam o
cotidiano do cidadão. Daí decorre uma pressão por resultados.
Ao estilhaçar velhas crenças a partir de metodologias que se
propõem ir para além do senso comum, a polícia passa ser capaz de
apresentar soluções para problemas da realidade cotidiana e que não
costumam ser apreciados ou confrontados, mesmo diante do fracasso
de políticas públicas aplicadas.
Testar hipóteses, em confronto direto com a realidade circundante
e em busca de sua alteração, eis a tarefa de uma polícia científica.
