Abstract

Inside Questioned Documents scope, ballpoint pen inks analysis demands analytical methods knowledge, as well as data results interpretation. This review aims to clarify about these techniques, also presenting recent research studies in this area. It can contribute to a better understanding of these approaches and to support forensic reports by Questioned Documents Experts. The knowledge about separation techniques, like chromatography, mass spectrometry techniques, spectroscopy techniques and multivariate statistics are fundamental to solve judicial questions about pen inks analysis.
